DIGIPAK RESEARCH - Interludes

What is an interlude? Well, it's basically a short filler track in the middle (but sometimes at the beginning or end) of an albumInterludes are usually instrumental, and they're also typically tamer than the material that surrounds them – or at least of a different musical genre.

Question is whether to mark them as interludes or have them added on to the songs. For that can have another layer to it, with the surprise. However in today's streaming age to have worded interludes can make people skip it, like I heard from a friend of my age who skipped the prologue from Halsey's Hopeless Fountain Kingdom.

EXAMPLES:
  • Kendrick Lamar's good kid, maad city (called a short film) and To Pimp A Butterfly.
  • Halsey's Badlands and Hopeless Fountain Kingdom
  • David Bowie's Diamond Dogs and 1.Outside
  • The Notorious B.I.G.'s Ready To Die and Life After Death + posthumous releases
  • Stormzy's Gang Signs + Prayer.
