AUDIENCE - The Appeal Of Vinyl

WHAT I ENDED UP APPLYING:

  • I created a vinyl release for my album and pushed it on the website

See this playlist about vinyl:

Statistics, from this article: show that over half of vinyl buys are under 25, which further prove that the increase in its consumption is not just nostalgia but are now a mainstream force.

QUALITY:

There is the belief that vinyl has the best audio quality, though some claim that CD's audio quality is still better, in this Spin review of an Arcade Fire album, making the point that for music with a variety of instruments you can hear the detail much better.

New indie bands have been enjoying success with vinyl, Arctic Monkeys's most recent
(see NME article).

Following the launch of the first ever vinyl charts, collecting the top-selling singles and albums on the resurgent format, the Official Charts Company have named the top selling vinyl album and single of the decade. Arctic Monkeys’ ‘AM’, released in 2013, is the top selling vinyl album, followed by Radiohead’s ‘The King Of Limbs’, Pink Floyd’s ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’, Daft Punk’s ‘Random Access Memories’ and Pink Floyd’s ‘The Endless River’
...The new vinyl charts will be published every Sunday at 7pm. They were created in response to rising vinyl sales over the past decade, and following the news that in 2014 vinyl sales figures hit a 20-year high. That trend has continued into the first quarter of 2015, with vinyl album sales up 69 per cent and vinyl single sales up 23 per cent.
Where in 2016 the biggest vinyl seller was for the late David Bowie due to his passing away, recently Spotify's biggest-selling artist, Ed Sheeran, has also been on the forefront of vinyl comeback:

The music retailer said demand was soaring across all genres, with Ed Sheeran’s Divide on track to be its biggest selling vinyl record of the year, followed by the solo efforts of Liam and Noel Gallagher, formerly of Oasis, in second and third place.
John Hirst, music manager at HMV, said: “A strong year for new releases from artists such as Ed Sheeran and Rag’n’Bone Man has been followed up with a really strong back end, with the Gallagher brothers driving the LP sales into the final quarter.”
Music fans are falling back in love with vinyl in a big way. The BPI, the industry’s trade body, predicts UK sales of vinyl albums will exceed 4m – the highest since it began collecting data in the early 90s.

When I talked to a Record Store owner, he said that the main reason for the gradual resurgence of vinyl over the past 15 years is Record Store Day.

Another sign of how this is likely to increase in the following years, Japan are creating their own new plant due to their being an overwhelming demand in their country.

...
The Japanese arm of Sony Music announced it would open its own record-pressing plant in March next year to cope with the huge demand for vinyl in the country.
Sony Music Japan shut down its in-house vinyl pressing production in 1989 after the advent of CDs, which entered the market in 1982 and were dominant for the next two decades.
However, in a trend mirrored worldwide, vinyl sales in Japan have rocketed over the past four years and the country’s sole vinyl-pressing factory is unable to cope with demand, prompting Sony to step in.

These are good resources, but there's minimal actual analysis from you, let alone any hint of how you might APPLY this
Its not enough to read/view and find it interesting; reflect on your findings. the post title suggests this is your one post directly on vinyl, an important topic (I checked your tag - it is), so make it good!!!!
